The Orland Park Police Department is currently hiring lateral transfer police officers.  In order to be eligible, applicants must possess proof of continuous service as a police officer in good standing in the State of Illinois for a minimum of two (2) years.  If not currently employed by an Illinois law enforcement agency, said separation must be no more than six (6) months, having left in good standing and not facing any adverse employment concerns or professional discipline at the time of separation.  For any eligible officer seeking to be selected from the Lateral Eligibility List, they must pass a full and complete background investigation, oral interview with the Board of Fire and Police Commission, along with a medical, psychological and optical exam.

  • Starting salary of $96,558 with mandatory minimum 2 years certified Illinois police experience up to $106,291 with 4 or more years certified Illinois police experience.
