Business License

When to Obtain a License:
Business licenses for businesses with a commercial location in the Village of Orland Park must be obtained from the Development Services Department when:
  • Starting a new business
  • Relocating a business
  • Expanding a business
  • Changing ownership of a business
Occupations Currently Exempt from Orland Park License Fees - Note: A Business License Application is still required

Application and Permits:
In addition to the business license application, occupancy, and zoning permits are also required under most circumstances. For detailed information on applying for occupancy permits, please refer to the various commercial applications on the building permits page.

When deciding on a location for your new business, call the Development Services Department at 708-403-5300 to make sure the area you are looking at is zoned properly for the type of business you plan to open.
Home Businesses:
The Village of Orland Park does not license businesses operated out of a home. Regulations pertaining to home businesses can be found in Article 6, Part Three, Section 6-303 of the Land Development Code. For more information on opening up a home business, check the State of Illinois Business Portal.
