ORLAND PARK, IL (January 3, 2017) -- Love and music will fill the air as the Southwest Community Concert Band presents "Moonlight & Music" on Sunday, February 12 at the Orland Park Cultural Center, 14760 Park Lane.

The community is invited to attend this free concert the Sunday before Valentine's Day as the band performs iconic tunes by famous composers including George Gershwin, Rogers & Hart and John Williams. The concert will be held from 2-3:30 p.m. and donations are encouraged to help support the village's Arts Commission.

"The Southwest Community Concert Band has been around for over 30 years and is made up of very talented musicians and educators from all around the south suburbs," Mayor Dan McLaughlin said. "We are honored to host them at the Cultural Center on this pre-holiday weekend."

The band is an all-volunteer organization of musicians, averaging more than 60 highly qualified music educators and performers from the southwest suburban Chicago area. For the past 16 years, the band has been under the direction of Ray Forlenza.
