Antique collectors are invited to learn more about their antiques and receive verbal estimates of value and preservation tips from Old Orland antique dealers.

The Village of Orland Park History Museum is hosting its Antiques Show 'N Tell Fundraiser on Saturday, September 15 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The event will be held at the museum, 14415 South Beacon Avenue. Free parking is available behind the building.

"The knowledge and experience in the Old Orland area is amazing," said Trustee Kathy Fenton, village board liaison to the museum board. "The antique dealers in Old Orland have been studying antiques for years and we're grateful for them sharing their expertise to help the museum."

A $5.00 per item being reviewed is required and each person is limited to three items. Artwork and large furniture pieces will not be appraised and jewelry appraisals will be available only until noon.

"We are very excited about our appraisal event," said Orland Park Museum Curator Sarah Stasukewicz. "People may have family heirlooms that they're curious about. They'll be able to get an idea of what they're worth and how they can preserve them."

Antique dealers from a number of Old Orland shops will offer verbal appraisals including Anna B's Antiques 'n Things, Beacon Hill Antique Shop, Kay's Old Orland Marketplace, Pam Benson Antiques and Fine Jewelry and Player Piano Clinic and Emporium.

Proceeds from the appraisals will benefit the museum's artifact preservation program and will help fund future programs and special events.
