The Southwest Conference of Mayors will hold its annual public auction on Saturday, September 30 beginning at 11 a.m. The Orland Park Public Works Facility is located at 15655 South Ravinia Avenue, one block west of LaGrange Road/US Route 45.

Automobiles, trucks and equipment from member municipalities will be auctioned by American Auction Associates of Addison, Illinois.

"We hold an auction every year, giving our member municipalities the opportunity to sell surplus vehicles and equipment that they no longer need," said Vicky Smith, director of the Southwest Conference of Mayors. "We keep the auction local. It gives members of the community an opportunity to purchase these vehicles."

A $200 deposit is required to obtain a bid paddle. All deposits and payments must be made in cash, credit cards or certified funds. Company checks will be accepted with a bank letter guaranteeing payment. All items are sold as-is, where-is without warranty or guarantee. All assets must be removed by 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Those planning to bid should arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of the auction to register. Registration takes place at the registration table. A valid ID, business card and a suitable deposit will speed up registration. After registering, bidders receive a numbered bidder paddle, and an auction lot catalog detailing the items being offered for sale.

Announcements made the day of the auction supersede any and all printed materials.

A public preview will be held on Friday, September 29 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. and at 9 a.m. the morning of the auction.
