The Village of Orland Park is looking for talent. The village will showcase the community's most talented family-friendly acts at the newest addition to the Taste of Orland Park --- "Orland Park's Got Talent."

The deadline to enter is Thursday, July 5. Individuals or groups of all ages are invited to send a DVD or CD showcasing their family-friendly performances to the village's Recreation Department; 14600 South Ravinia Avenue; Orland Park, IL 60462. Entries should be marked to the attention of Frann Carnivele-Sidlow. Performers do not have to live in Orland Park to participate.

"This is a new event that we've added this year, replacing the karaoke contest that we've held for the last several years," said Mayor Dan McLaughlin. "Village staff thought it would be fun to try something new and we all know that Orland Park's got talent," the mayor added.

Judges will choose 25 semi-finalists to compete on Thursday, July 26 at 7:00 pm at the Orland Park Civic Center. Semi-finalists will be rated by judges and audience participation. Fifteen finalists will be chosen to compete at the Taste of Orland Park final competition on the community stage on August 5.

"We're very excited about this new addition to the Taste of Orland Park because it opens the competition to everyone --- all ages and all types of performances," said Trustee Pat Gira, chair of the village's Recreation and Parks Committee.

The top three winners on August 5 will receive gift cards for $500 for first place; $300 for second place and $200 for third place.
