Outdoor entertainment has been a summer mainstay in Orland Park with live entertainment being offered throughout the community.

Residents have enjoyed outdoor music at Crescent Park, the Village Center, Centennial Park and at Centennial Park West.

The village will close its summer entertainment season Labor Day Weekend with an afternoon of free outdoor shows on Sunday, September 2 at Centennial Park West.

"We've had a great summer in Orland Park and we're hosting one more event for the whole family," said Trustee Dan Calandriello, chair of the village's Recreation and Parks Committee.

The Sunday, September 2 concert at Centennial Park West opens with extravagant emo rock with Tickle Me Emo performing from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The Breakfast Club, performing favorite 80s tunes, will be on stage from 3:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.

Trippin' Billies, a Dave Matthews tribute band, performs from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.

"We invite everyone to join us as we celebrate another fun Orland Park summer," Calandriello said. "We wrap it all up Labor Day Weekend with the closing of our Centennial Park Aquatic Center and one last concert."

The park has several rolling hills where attendees can sit to enjoy the performance.

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, picnics, blankets and refreshments to enjoy the village's outdoor entertainment venue. Concessions will be for sale onsite with Buddy's Italian Ice, Burger 21, City Barbecue and Taqieroa Mi Taquito. Beer and wine will be available for purchase.

Centennial Park West is located near the Collette Highlands Subdivision at Park Station Boulevard and Jillian Road. Free parking is available at the adjacent Metra parking lot. A free shuttle will be available from the parking lot to the venue seating area.

This event is sponsored by the Aileen S. Andrew Foundation, City Barbecue, Loyola Medicine, Palos Health and the University of Chicago Medicine.

The village's Arts Commission presents the Joni Bishop Art Exhibit and Concert on Sunday, September 23 at the village's Cultural Center, 14760 Park Lane. Bishop's art exhibit opens at 2 p.m. with the concert following at 4 p.m. Admission is $20 for adults and $15 for students.
