Posted on 11/15/2016

Area businesses, groups, schools and organizations are invited to get into the holiday spirit and help the Village of Orland Park History Museum Foundation at the same time.

Organizations are invited to pick up wreaths the weekend of November 18-20 and decorate them in a tasteful and creative fashion. Decorated wreaths should be returned to the museum on Saturday, December 3 between 9 a.m. and noon for the foundation's silent auction the following day.

Applications are available at the village hall, 14700 South Ravinia Avenue, and via the link below.

Participating organizations do not own the wreaths and each group is limited to one. Wreaths are the property of the village's history museum and must be returned decorated.

Decorated wreaths will be available for viewing and purchase via silent auction at the "Handmade for the Holidays" open house at the village's history museum, 14415 South Beacon Avenue, on Sunday, December 4 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

This free event will include holiday exhibits, hors d'oeuvres and beverages, viewing and bidding on the decorated wreaths and musical entertainment provided by the Carl Sandburg High School Chamber Singers.

Potential wreath decorating ideas include sports, tropical, winter, animals, patriotic, flowers, food, traditional Christmas, angels, nature business, railroad, toys, bells, Santa Claus, music, historical, sparkly, sports and more.
