Construction Stops
Posted on 07/02/2010

All contracted construction projects in the Village of Orland Park have come to a halt. On Thursday, July 1, 2010, the Laborers Union and the Operating Engineers Union (heavy machine operators) voted to strike. This strike has halted all work on the contracted construction projects.

Work is indefinitely halted due to the current labor strike.

Contract negotiations between union officials and the Mid-America Regional Bargaining Association which negotiates construction labor agreements on behalf of the Chicago area construction companies, are scheduled to resume on Wednesday, July 7, 2010.

As soon as new developments are known, the village will update the construction projects on the Village's web site.
