"Orland Park's Got Talent" debuted in 2012 when the village's Recreation Department put out a call for talented area residents.

The village will again showcase the community's most talented family friendly acts on the community stage at the Taste of Orland Park on Sunday, August 4 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

"Last year was our inaugural year and we're hoping for even more entries this year," said Frann Carnivele-Sidlow, the resident producer/director of the village's Orland Park Theatre Troupe, who oversees the competition.

Contestants can be any age and must submit a DVD or CD to be considered for the first round of competition. DVDs and CDs can be mailed or delivered to the Village of Orland Park Recreation Department; Attn. Frann Carnivele-Sidlow; 14600 South Ravinia Avenue; Orland Park, IL 60462.

This is the second year that the "Orland Park's Got Talent" finals will be held at the Taste of Orland Park, replacing the karaoke contest that was held in previous years.

Judges will select 25 semi-finalists to compete on Thursday, July 25 at 7 p.m. at the Orland Park Civic Center, 14750 South Ravinia Avenue.

The judges and audience will then choose 15 finalists to compete at the Taste of Orland Park final competition on August 4. The top three winners on August 4 will receive gift cards of $500 for first place, $300 for second place and $200 for third place.

The deadline for submission of DVD and CD entries is Friday, July 5, 2013 and contestants need not live in Orland Park. For more information, call the Village of Orland Recreation Department at 708/403-7275.
