ORLAND PARK, IL- The Village of Orland Park has hired Crystal Lake’s deputy city manager George Koczwara as its new village manager.

The Orland Park Village Board unanimously approved Koczwara during the board of trustees meeting on September 3.

“I am confident George will be an outstanding village manager,” said Mayor Keith Pekau. “His leadership and character will be well received by our residents, staff and elected officials and will be an integral part of positioning Orland Park for success for the next several decades.”

An employee of the City of Crystal Lake for more than 20 years, Koczwara replaces Interim Village Manager Thomas Dubelbeis, who has filled the role since May of this year.

In addition to his role as Crystal Lake’s deputy city manager, Koczwara also served as the city’s finance director and city treasurer.

“The thing that really drew me to Orland Park was the family environment of the community.” said Koczwara. “My mission as Orland Park Village Manager is to continue to improve the quality of life for residents.”

Koczwara is married with three children, the youngest of which left for college earlier this year. “My wife and I are still adjusting to the concept of empty nesting,” said Koczwara who grew up in the southwest side of Chicago near Midway Airport. “I am looking forward to living in Orland Park near family and friends that live here and in surrounding communities. “
