Orland Park Police To Host Neighborhood Beat Meetings
The Orland Park Police Department has announced its spring schedule for neighborhood beat meetings.

“The beat meetings are a great way for residents and businesses to learn about what’s happening in their areas and to learn what they can do to help keep their neighborhoods safe,” said Trustee Pat Gira, chair of the village’s Public Safety Committee. “It’s also a great way for police personnel to meet the people in the area.”

Beats 1 and 7 will meet at the Orland Park Police Station, 15100 South Ravinia Avenue, on Tuesday, March 5 at 6:30 p.m.

Beat 1 runs from LaGrange Road west to 108th Avenue, from 143rd Street south to 153rd Street. Beat 7 is west of 108th Avenue, north of 159th Street and goes north slightly past 139th Street. Beat 7 stops at Will-Cook Road on the west.

“The beat meetings enable our personnel to meet with the residents of each area in a comfortable, stress free environment,” said Orland Park Police Chief Tim McCarthy. “Police personnel are able to share information for specific areas and can answer whatever questions people have.”

The Beat 3 Meeting will be held Wednesday, March 6 at 6:30 p.m. at the Kruse Education Center, 7617 West Hemlock Drive in the Catalina Subdivision.  Beat 3 is north of 159th Street from Orlan Brook Drive east to Harlem Avenue.
