Village’s Special Recreation Program Holds Indoor Garage Sale

ORLAND PARK, IL (February 17, 2020)- The Village of Orland Park Recreation Department’s Special Recreation Program will host its spring garage sale on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at the Orland Park Civic Center, 14750 South Ravinia Avenue from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

“This event has a true community feel as residents come together for a day of shopping while supporting a great cause,” said Mayor Keith Pekau.

“Our indoor garage sale is one of the largest in the region,” said Pekau. “This is a great event all around because proceeds help provide supplies for Special Recreation Programs and uniforms for our Special Olympians,” he added.

Banquet-sized tables are available for rent for $28.00 per table. Reservations can be made at the Village Hall, located at 14700 South Ravinia Avenue or at the Village’s Sportsplex, 11351 West 159th Street.

Tables are pre-assigned on a first come/first served basis. There are limited spots available for vendors and hundreds of shoppers attend the sale each year.

“Sellers offer a variety of items at the Special Recreation Garage Sale,” said Orland Park Special Recreation Supervisor Kathleen Michau.

“Shoppers will find housewares, clothes, books, collectibles, holiday decorations and more. This is a nice, indoor event that people look forward to every year. They can browse items available from multiple sellers all under one roof, enjoy concessions and find some great buys,” Michau explained. “Our sellers like it too because they keep all of their profits.”

Set up on the day of the sale begins at 7 a.m., with the doors opening at 9 a.m. Interested sellers can contact Barb Rhodes at 708/403-6202 with questions.
