The Village of Orland Park Public Works Department continues to clean up after the severe thunderstorms that passed through the village the evening of June 21.

"We've had crews out cleaning up tree limbs since early this morning," said Orland Park Public Works Director Ed Wilmes. "We're working our way through the entire town and plan to have everything cleaned up by Friday," he added.

Village crews are able to remove downed tree limbs from public property only and may not service trees on private property. Residents who have large, fallen limbs on private property are asked to take the limbs to the curb where Public Works crews can pick them up.

Smaller limbs and twigs should be bundled for pick up by Waste Management on residents' normal yard waste pick up days. Bundles should be no larger than two feet in diameter, four feet in length and should weigh no more than 50 pounds.

"Our crews will swing by to pick up downed limbs that residents bring to the curb," Wilmes said. Residents should call Public Works at 403-6350 to have limbs at the curb picked up.
