Village Crews Continue Post Blizzard Clean Up
Posted on 02/02/2011

As of 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 2, twenty-two village snow plow crews, seventeen contractor teams and nine pieces of heavy equipment were working to clear Village of Orland Park streets and cul-de-sacs. These crews will remain deployed until 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 3.

Crews have been working continuously since midnight on Tuesday, February 1 to battle the storm. This blizzard has been recorded as the third greatest snow accumulation in history with overnight totals in excess of twenty inches of snow. Combined with wind gusts exceeding 50 miles an hour, maintaining open passage throughout the village was very challenging for village crews.

An area north of 151st Street, west of Wolf Road and south of 139th Street is among the hardest hit, being one that crews were focusing early efforts on Wednesday evening.

Questions or snow related issues may be directed to the Village of Orland Park Public Works Department at 708/403-6350.
