The Village of Orland Park Sportsplex has added five new classes to its group exercise schedule. The classes are free for Sportsplex members and non-members may pay the facility's drop-in rate to participate.

"We are very excited about the classes that we've added," said Fitness Manager Deborah Graham-Geghen.

Mondays offer seniors "Mix It Up Morning Workout" with Jeannie Atkenson from 10:30 a.m. to 11:25 a.m. This class combines a mix of both light cardio and the use of fitness equipment including weights, balls, bands and more.

Monday evenings bring a cycling class beginning at 5:30 p.m. with Karen Keuper and Johanna Enders.

"With the weather changing, people are looking for exciting work out alternatives now that they're moving their routines back indoors," Graham-Geghen said. "This fall's new classes cover the spectrum and offer something for everyone," she added.

Sploxing is the fare on Tuesdays at 6:10 p.m., and is a combination of boxing techniques with equipment and intertwined Pilates exercises. Boxing gloves are recommended. A cycle and abs class will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays.

Power Pump Endurance will be offered on Thursdays at 6:00 p.m. as well as a new cycle and abs class at 6:30 p.m. with David Atshul.

"Power Pump Endurance is a high energy class that elevates the heart rate while using body bars, weights and agility drills, all making an awesome work out," Graham-Geghen explained.
