The Orland Park Theatre Troupe is onto its next production having enjoyed capacity crowds and standing ovations at its spring musical, “Peter Pan.”

The village’s theatre program invites adults age 18 and older to audition for its summer murder mystery, “Occupation Murder,” written by Billy St. John and produced in cooperation with Eldridge Plays and Musicals.

The audience participation murder mystery centers around the TV quiz show “It’s A Living!” and the murder of the show’s sponsor.

Auditions are Monday, May 19 and Tuesday, May 20 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Orland Park’s Old Village Hall, 14413 South Beacon Avenue. Rehearsals will be held Sundays from noon to 4 p.m. and Monday and Thursday evenings from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Prior theater experience is not required.

Performances will be July 18 and 19 at the Orland Park Civic Center, where audience members will enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres as they participate in the performance.

Once cast, members must pay a $35.00 registration fee. Readings will be from the script.
