Village Remains in Contact With ComEd

The Village of Orland Park remains in contact with ComEd regarding the power outages that continue in the village since Monday's storms.

As of 3 p.m. today, there are approximately 1600 Orland Park customers without power while 8400 have been restored.

ComEd reports that 500 ComEd crews, 300 contractors and 200 mutual assistance crews, comprising nearly 1000 crews are mobilized and responding to outages.

Most of the affected areas are in the south region of ComEd’s service territory and three staging areas are being used to help crews with supplies and materials.

Prioritization among restorations includes critical customers and infrastructure (including hospitals, pump stations, police/fire, etc). The outages with the highest customer count receive the first priority.

ComEd reported that 300,000 total customers experienced outages with 86,000 remaining without power as of 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2014.

Customers can report outages or get updates by texting the word OUT to 26633. Mobile phone apps are available for iPhone and Android users.
