Fernway Sanitary Sewer - IL American Water
Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP) for Fernway Subdivision Begins October 12, 2016
The Fernway subdivision was originally constructed outside the Village of Orland Park.  The subdivision was constructed as part of the Illinois American Water's sanitary sewer service area. Illinois American Water continues to service the Fernway subdivision with sanitary sewer service.

As part of Illinois American Water’s commitment to support needed infrastructure improvements, Illinois American Water will be performing structural rehabilitation of existing clay pipe sanitary sewer mains in the Fernway subdivision neighborhood with cured-in-place pipe liner (CIPP).  The lining will seal the sanitary sewers to prevent infiltration from groundwater, thereby extending the life of the existing pipe and preventing a need for replacing the sewers. The lining process requires the existing sanitary sewer main be taken out of service temporarily for approximately eight hours.  If you are in the impacted area (see below for impacted areas), the floor drains need to have water in the trap.  If necessary, pour several cups of water in the drain. Impacted homes will receive a door hanger notice when this activity will occur and Illinois American Water request that you use a limited amount of water during this time.
Work crews may need to access sewer manholes on resident's property or within an easement near the property to complete the work.  Notification will be provided at least 24 hours prior to any need of accessing the property.  The CIPP lining work is not anticipated to require any excavation, so the impact to the area will be minimal.  Once the improvements have been completed, any disturbed areas will be restored.

The project is estimated to commence October 12, 2016 for the duration of 6-8 Weeks.

Airy’s Inc. is the general contractor and Hoerr Construction will be performing the construction work.  If you require any assistance, during this project, please contact Tom Land with Airy’s at (708) 267-8722 or Delores D Sanders, Engineering Construction Coordinator with Illinois American Water at 630-739-8836 or
