IDOT Seeks Public Input on Southwest Highway Roadwork

IDOT is seeking public comments on Section 4(f) impacts the IL 7 (South of 135th Street to 131st Street) project will have on Groundhog Slough owned and operated by the Forest Preserve District of Cook County.

Section 4(f) lands include publicly owned parks, recreational areas, wildlife and waterfowl refuges, or public and private historical sites. The project will impact Groundhog Slough to construct a right turn lane, improve drainage and replace traffic signals.

This is the first opportunity for the public to comment on the additional public land needed for this project. The Section 4(f) de minimis documentation is available for viewing at the following locations during normal business hours.

Written comments can be submitted at the IDOT office, mailed to the IDOT office, or submitted electronically at the above website. Comments must be received by August 30, 2017 to be considered part of the public record.
